About Me
Hello, I'm Kath.
I am a Soft tissue therapist based in Newcastle-under-Lyme and Chester.
I qualified as a Level 5 Soft tissue therapist with the Oxford School of Sports Massage (OSSM). I was inspired to train as a Soft tissue therapist after a series of running and cycling injuries. These injuries led me to want to understand my own body better and how I could best support it to get back to doing the activities I loved. Now I do my best to help others do the same, whether your goal is returning to your favourite sport after an injury or being able to move better and stay mobile.
Before training as a Soft tissue therapist, I worked in the fields of forensics, musculoskeletal science, and public health. Now I combine my detective skills and love of anatomy to help find the muscular culprits of pain and injury!
I have also authored and contributed to a number of research and review articles published in scientific peer-reviewed journals, including the Cochrane and National Institute of Health and Care Excellence (NICE).
Outside of the clinic, I enjoy running and hiking. I have ran five marathons and four half marathons. I have completed several multi-treks in the UK and abroad, including the Camino Frances at nearly 1000km. As someone who is active and enjoys sport and adventure, I understand the frustrations that come with injury and the importance of manual therapy for injury prevention and rehabilitation.
I am fully insured member of The Institute of Soft Tissue Therapists (ISRM), a highly reputable professional body for the practice of Soft tissue therapy in the UK.
